It was clean and the staff was nice
That I could have received a cheaper price booking with hotel direct but your guarantee for cheapest price does not honor that
Location and staff
this is an older property, but has been kept up very well...clean and good value for a place to sleep...no pool, or Jacuzzi
Didn't use y The kitchen
The staff was very helpful and pleasant, and the rooms are decently clean. They will do what they can to fix any issues and are at the office from 7am until 10 pm at night. The cost is on the low end for the bay are and its on par with pretty much any other cheap hotel in SF. Which means its pretty subpar. Its located about a 15 min. walk from BART and only about 10 min walk to downtown Walnut Creek.
The rooms are quite dated and in poor shape. I doubt the rooms have been renovated since the 1980s, and you really wouldn't want to bring your wife or family. The Mt. Diablo Inn sits under a major highway and the rooms are really noisy. Luckily I brought ear plugs and used a white noise app, but sill struggled to get sleep. If you have a reason to be in Walnut Creek and want to save some $, there could be worse choices out there - but I doubt it.
I reserved and paid for two rooms and both rooms had a very bad stench- like accumulated spoiled garbage. The people next to us were noisy, and obnoxious all hours of the night I couldn't get a decent nights sleep. The outside of our room had a broken down television. The ice machine was filthy. There were not very many pleasantries about the person that answered the phone- I simply asked for the key code to access internet. He sounded annoyed and put out- almost as though I asked him to come up and inter the keys himself. In the morning, we were getting ready to leave , and my niece went back up to her room, to get her luggage and they had already locked her out- We had to hunt someone down to retrieve her things, consequently, we were a little late for a very important event. I can[t say it was the worst hotel , I have stayed at but it is amongst the top three!!
You could not find nicer more accommodating staff. Every single person I spoke to there on the phone or in person was professional and went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable as possible.
The beds and pillows were old and uncomfortable
the lady from front desk was very attentive, location was okay.
I didnt like that we had to ask for coffee machine, ironing, etc. and obviously is available only during office schedule. and that they have online one picture from another place, it was confusing.
Staff friendly and helpful. Nice continental breakfast every morning.
The woman at the front desk was so helpful. She confirmed our airline tickets for us and printed out the boarding passes.
It is very hard to find this motel, especially at night, because it is set back from the street. Perhaps the sign could be higher so that it stands out. We got lost because we missed the motel our first evening there.
Other guests were noisy. Freeway noise is significant.
Very dated. Smells old. Ac unit old old. It was a shock when we drove up expecting what the internet picture showed. When I mentioned that to the ?Owner she got defensive. Big stain on lobby carpet. Just not something we would stay in again. Garbage can directly in front of our door.within 2 feet.
The staff was great. Helpful with questions. Printed maps for us, suggested eating places or site seeing destinations. Even printed up boarding passes for return flight because we didn't have a computer. Always pleasant. Bathroom was roomy and had a lot of natural light. Clean. Recently painted. Bed comfy. Continental breakfast satisfying.
Lighting in the room was too poor to read by. No one wants drapes wide open on a ground level. Bathroom could have used a towel ring by the tub and another one by the sink. There was only one towel bar on the back wall which held all the clean towels. Wish the breakfast started before 7:30, which is a little late.
Close to our party destination.
The room and entire facility was very dark and old;needs of updating. Very old uncomfortable bed. Shower had mold on ceiling. Would not recommend.
Clean rooms, comfy bed, fantastic breakfast & friendly staff
Arguing at 2.30am some woman with her daughter's no thought for other guests at all. Not something Motel could foresee. No coffee machine in room
Could definitely use a refresh/update. AC was very ineffective especially for 2nd story room.Overall clean and friendly!
Needs new doors/windows that are better secured.
